Introducing the latest expression of individual style - the all new BMW 3 Series Coupe. With totally new looks, the newest BMW Coupe once again sets the benchmark for elegant design, luxury and value. In true BMW tradition, it also establishes a new standard of performance and driving dynamics with the introduction of an exceptional engine: the first inline six cylinder with twin turbochargers, high precision fuel injection, and an all aluminium crankcase.

The performance potential of this new 300 horsepower engine ensures that the 335i Coupe offers a significant improvement in performance while maintaining a level of efficiency for which the BMW 3 Series is renowned. The 335i Coupe will be joined in the U.S. by the 230 horsepower 328i Coupe.


In addition to the standard six speed manual, both models will be offered with an available six speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission. Designed for responsiveness, the new automatic enhances driving dynamics without sacrificing fuel efficiency.

An additional dimension of driving dynamics, with the benefit of outstanding traction, will be offered with the introduction of BMW's xDrive all wheel drive. BMW xDrive is the most sophisticated and responsive all wheel drive system on the market. It has proven its merits, in terms of agility and safety, in the ten models currently offered with xDrive in the U.S. Beginning this fall(In the US) these merits will become available to Coupe drivers for the first time.

The premium character of the newest BMW Coupe is recognizable from the very first glance. Over and above the basic shape of the car and its elegant lines, the graphic design of the headlights, the detail of the rear taillights, the interior and even the exterior mirrors were specifically crafted for the new Coupe. These unique design elements reflect the unique character of this elegant and sporty new car.

The Toyota Fortuner is a sport utility vehicle produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota for some Asian, African and Latin American markets.

Assembled in Asia and South America, the Fortuner is built on the well-established platform of the Toyota Hilux pickup truck. It features three rows of seats and is available in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive among others. The Fortuner is part of Toyota's IMV project which include the Hilux, Innova and the Avanza.

A number of engine options are available depending on the country of sale, including a 2.7 liter 2TR-FE and 4.0 liter 1GR-FE V6 petrol with Variable Valve Timing and 2.5 2KD-FTV and 3.0 1KD-FTV common rail variable geometry turbocharger Diesel models.

Trim levels are G and G Luxury for rear-wheel drive diesel and gasoline, and V for four-wheel drive Diesel and gasoline. The common rail turbo intercooled diesel has functional scoop on its hood.

Toyota has launched the Toyota Fortuner here in Malaysia with two models, a 2.7V and 2.5G model.

The Toyota Fortuner 2.7V has a 2.7 liter VVT-i V6 petrol engine which makes about 160ps at 5200rpm and 241Nm torque at 3800rpm. This TR family of engines has been developed specifically for use in SUVs and trucks.

For those who like diesels, Toyota Fortuner 2.5G is powered by a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder turbodiesel, probably the same common rail turbodiesel found in the Hilux. The diesel powerplant makes 102ps at 3600rpm and 260Nm torque at 1600-2400rpm.

The Toyota Fortuner has a full-time 4WD system featuring a Torsen LSD, with a second set of gears (4H and 4L) with lower ratios.

The dashboard design is the same as the Innova and Hilux but with different trim levels used to portray a different feel. There is a multi-purpose display above the center console of the dashboard that can be programmed to show various information. This feature is also found in the Toyota Innova.

The market leader for full sized jeep the Ssangyong Rexton for now which costs about RM170,000. I wonder how Toyota will fare against that beauty, even if it is a Korean.

With the introduction of the Fortuner, all three Toyota IMV platform vehicles are now in Malaysia. The other two are the Toyota Hilux and the Toyota Innova.

The Toyota Fortuner 2.5G is priced at RM161,104.69 while the Toyota Fortuner 2.7V will cost you RM178,023.80. These prices exclude insurance.

I really don’t know how well Toyota will do with the Fortuner as from what I’ve heard everything about the car feels pretty cheap, and it is based on a RM90,000 Toyota Hilux after all. Okay, maybe not exactly cheap but it does not feel like a RM180,000 car. Everyone was expecting it to be positioned in the 140-160K price bracket.

Gran Turismo 5: PC Edition Releasing in 2009

Austrian site derStandard spoke to Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi at a recent Salzburg press event:

derStandard: Is there a chance that Gran Turismo will be released on a different platform?

Kazunori Yamauchi: It is very unlikely that Gran Turismo will be released on any other console. But perhaps for the PC. Especially in the Chinese market so we could increase the growth of the brand.
